A Calling More Than 20 Years in the Making
Legacy Gaits didn’t begin with a website, a program, or even a name. It grew from a calling that has been taking shape for more than 20 years.
Along the way, horses became much more than part of everyday life. They became teachers—of patience, trust, responsibility, perseverance, and the kind of quiet connection that can reach people when words sometimes cannot.
Through our own experiences, we began to see how horses, mentorship, service, community, and faith could come together to make a difference in people’s lives.
Over time, that vision became Legacy Gaits.
Why Legacy Gaits
More Than a Name
The name Legacy Gaits reflects what we hope to build and what we hope to leave behind.
“Legacy” is about the difference we make in the lives of others—the lessons passed on, the relationships built, the faith strengthened, and the confidence someone carries with them long after they leave.
“Gaits” reflects the horses at the heart of this ministry. Every horse moves differently, and so does every person. Growth does not happen at the same pace or look the same for everyone.
Legacy Gaits is a place where people can take their next step at their own pace, supported by horses, mentorship, community, service, and faith.

Legacy Gaits is growing toward a place where horses, mentorship, service, community, and faith can come together in practical ways.
Our vision is to create opportunities for people to spend time with horses, learn responsibility and confidence, serve alongside others, and build meaningful relationships in a welcoming, Christ-centered environment.
Some will come because they love horses. Some will come looking for community or a place to serve. Others may simply need somewhere they can slow down, feel useful, and take a positive next step.
Wherever someone begins, we want Legacy Gaits to be a place where they are welcomed, encouraged, and reminded that their life and story have purpose.
A Calling Rooted in Faith
Legacy Gaits is grounded in the belief that every person has value, every life has purpose, and God can use ordinary moments and relationships to make a lasting difference.
Our Christian faith shapes how we hope to serve: with patience, compassion, encouragement, and respect for every person who comes through our gates.
We don’t know every chapter of the Legacy Gaits story yet. But we know what we want to build—a place where people are welcomed, horses help create connection, and faith is lived out through service to others.
