Legacy Gaits programs use horses, mentorship, faith, and hands-on experiences to help people build confidence, responsibility, practical skills, and meaningful connections.
Our programs are designed to meet people where they are. Someone does not need riding experience or previous experience with horses to belong here. Participants can learn at their own pace in a safe, supportive environment.

Working with horses gives people opportunities to learn in ways that are active, practical, and personal. Participants can build horsemanship skills while also practicing patience, communication, confidence, responsibility, and trust.
Each person can begin at an appropriate level and grow from there. Lessons learned while grooming, handling, riding, and caring for horses often reach well beyond the arena.

Youth & Life Skills
Skills That Reach Beyond the Ranch
Some of the most important lessons at Legacy Gaits happen while someone is doing something practical. Caring for a horse, completing a ranch task, working alongside another person, or learning a new skill creates opportunities to practice responsibility, perseverance, communication, and problem-solving.
Our youth and life-skills activities are designed to help participants grow in confidence and independence while learning that mistakes are part of the process. The goal is not simply to finish a task. It is to learn how to keep going, ask for help, work with others, and take pride in doing something well.

Growth is not only about what we learn for ourselves. At Legacy Gaits, we also want people to discover the value of helping others, caring for the place around them, and becoming part of something bigger than themselves.
Service may look different from day to day. It can mean helping with horses, pitching in on ranch projects, supporting another participant, caring for shared spaces, or taking part in opportunities that benefit the community.
